Demos – available for age 13 and up
The HTC Vive demo stations offer a 15’ x 15’ holodeck like experiences in which one can walk about freely. HTC is targeting all uses of VR. Using special controllers with submillimeter accuracy, the participants can interact with and manipulate the virtual environment with their hands. It is a truly transportive experience that will convince your brain that you are actually present in the virtual world. Once you see for yourself what VR is, you will understand the staggering potential VR will have on industry and the way in which humans play, communicate and do business. We apologize in advance for blown minds at the event.
Oculus is credited with bringing the right tech together at the right time to move us into the age of consumer VR. The Rift, now available for order, is the culmination of over 3 years of development. Built for comfort it is lightweight with integrated headphones, high quality mic and custom lenses. Many report they forget they are wearing a headset at all. The Rift features technology, such as asynchronous time warp, that helps helps keep the VR experience smooth and comfortable for the user which aids in achieving a sense of ‘presence’. The launch focus for Oculus is currently entertainment and offers a variety of impressive and immersive gaming experiences. Owned by Facebook, Oculus will be diving deep into Social VR experiences in which multiple users from around the world can interact with each other in virtual spaces. See what it’s like to be ‘inside’ the games.
The Samsung GearVR released to consumers a few months ago, in collaboration with Oculus, offers up the best wireless mobile solution currently. Using current generations Samsung Note & Galaxy smart phones that snap into the headset, one can take vr with them anywhere. There are currently hundreds of experiences available from games, 360 movies, Social VR and more. Priced at $99, there are hundreds of thousands sold with plans for over a million out in the wild by the end of the year.
